Choosing Your Counter Tops

Solid surface, or something more economical? Either way, it helps to know what you’re getting.

Granite is very popular because it’s low maintenance and you can set hot dishes on it without damage. Marble (natural) and quartz (engineered) are two other common solid-surface choices — typically a bit higher in price.

Laminate counter tops are less durable than solid surface and can’t handle hot pans, but they come in a variety of colors and are a great solution on a budget.
